Live data on the G20
Every car gets the standard OBD values for free: RPM, road speed, coolant, oil and intake air temperature, battery voltage, engine load, throttle position, MAF and fuel level. On a G20 the app also reads BMW's own values from the modules. Which of them appear depends on the engine, the gearbox and the model year — the app only shows what your car answers.

Which adapter for a G20
- Bluetooth LE or Wi-Fi OBD adapter (ELM327 v1.5 or newer) — works on iPhone and Android.
- Wi-Fi ENET adapter (MHD / ModBMW type) — the fastest wireless option, on iPhone and Android.
- ENET cable with a USB-C Ethernet adapter — the fastest and most stable connection on Android.
- Bluetooth Classic and USB adapters work on Android only, because iOS does not expose them to apps.
The Hex Terminal needs an ENET connection and a gateway that answers HSFZ, which covers earlier G-series cars. The terminal is not available on a G20 whose gateway answers only DoIP.
Tested on a real G20
On a 2022 320i (B48 petrol engine), with a Bluetooth LE adapter from an iPhone: connection, VIN and chassis recognition, and the full-vehicle scan across the car's modules. Live data on that car covered the standard OBD values only; the BMW values listed above have not yet been read on a G20. The other functions on this page have not yet been confirmed on a G20.
Questions
Can DiagBimmer reset the oil service on a G20?
Not on every G20 yet. The service display is free and shows the items the car reports. On some newer G20s the app does not offer a reset yet. On the others, resetting the oil service and brake fluid needs the one-time premium purchase. A reset has not yet been tried on a real G20.
Does it work with the 330e plug-in hybrid?
Not tested yet: no plug-in hybrid G20 has been connected so far. For the 320e and 330e the app has a high-voltage battery page with charge, health, temperatures and cell data. Forced DPF regeneration is for diesel models only.
Do I need a dealer tool to register a new battery?
No. Battery registration is in the app as a premium function: choose the F · G series on the battery page and follow the steps.
